gangbadoy:

Some donors make it a point to indicate if they want their offering to go to Water for CDO or new underwear for barangays in Iligan, or relief goods for the part of Dumaguete that was hit.  Some will just say, “Use our donation for whatever you see fit.”   So this particular percentage of the (un-specified) donations that go through Rock Ed Philippines were hand delivered and properly labeled and divided as abuloy by film maker Kiri Dalena while she was on the road gathering stories with Pat Evangelista.  Kiri’s cousin Dingus Gustilo who is based in Iligan is now the one in charge of the abuloy delivery fund.  And Kiri’s sister, artist Aba Dalena coordinates with us here in Manila.

The effort of taking note of families who lost loved ones per barangay and hand delivering them is a gigantic task which is why (even if I know this would probably embarrass them) I need to THANK the Lluch-Dalena-Gustilo kids for taking the time out to be as organized as possible with this hardly-linear and emotionally taxing project.

If some of you are still donating and would like to indicate specifically that you want your money for abuloy, please do so.
